We advocate for positive climate change and health solutions.

OCCA's goal is to engage health care professionals, medical chapters, and health care organizations in climate change discussions to help educate patients, community leaders, and legislators about the impacts climate change can have on human health while advocating for beneficial, sustainable climate solutions.

To do this, we use our voices as trusted messengers to spread the word locally and nationally. You will see our members writing op-eds and letters to the editor, testifying at legislative hearings, giving interviews to various media outlets, and educating patients and colleagues on the on positive actions that can be taken to help mitigate climate changes effects for a healthier population.

“To be healthy, kids need clean air, clean water, healthy food, and safe places to live, get around, and play. Stewardship of a healthy environment also safeguards a healthy future for our children as they grow to adulthood, and for future generations. My patient care can’t end in the doctor’s office. That’s why I’ve worked to found Ohio Clinicians for Climate Action, and use my voice to ensure environmental policy in Ohio fosters healthy communities for Ohio’s children.”
